Hi and Welcome to Michigan Tech!
This fall, as you begin to "Design Your Future" at Michigan Tech,
Orientation will help you to find the tools you will need to succeed.
First-year students will be arriving from all over the world, and even
though everyone has a different design in mind, each of you will sketch
the blueprints for your life.
The Orientation program's
Mission and Goals.
Parent Presentation
Upon the request of many parents, "Helping your student from a distance"
presentation by Bonnie Gorman and Gloria Melton has been made available online
here.
Curious about how you can succeed at MTU?

Fall 2004
We will put all the details about Fall 2004 Orientation on this
site as they approach, so bookmark this page! We plan to update the web site
regularly.
The dates for Orientation 2004 are set! Orientation
will begin on Sunday, August 22 and go through Saturday, August 28. The halls
will open for move-in at noon on Saturday, August 21.
Orientation is here! Check out
these webcams
of campus for some different views of the action. (The WalkerCam is a good place
to start.)
Orientation schedules will be handed out upon arrival.
Students
You will meet many new people, discover your interests and talents, gain
independence, and make decisions about your future. Orientation 2004 is
required for all new students. We are planning an informative and
fun-filled week to introduce you to campus, academics, and your classmates.
Parents and Families
Whether you live in the
residence halls or continue to live at home,
going to college can be
difficult for your mom and dad, too. During Fall Orientation
we will offer several opportunities for families to get information and
speak with upper-level students, faculty, and administrators. Check out the
Parent Schedule for more info.
Also, check out the
ParentNet
website for a "slice of campus life written by an MTU student."
This week's article on ParentNet
is about places to stay in the Keweenaw.
